GAMBARAN HALITOSIS DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN ALAT BREATH CHECKER MAX DETECTOR DI PANTI SOSIAL ASUHAN ANAK PUTRA UTAMA 2
Halitosis or bad breath is an oral health issue that can impact a person's
quality of life. Research Purposes: this study aims to describe the occurrence of
halitosis among residents of the Putra Utama 2 Social Orphanage using the Breath
Checker Max Detector. Research method: the research method used is a
descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 30 respondents were
selected as samples using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was
conducted through direct examination using the Breath Checker Max Detector to
measure halitosis levels and interviews regarding oral hygiene habits. Research
Results: the study results show that most respondents experienced mild to moderate
halitosis, with key contributing factors such as suboptimal tooth brushing habits,
consumption of strong-smelling foods, and limited access to dental care.
Conclusion: In conclusion, education on oral health and the promotion of proper
oral hygiene practices are essential to reducing the prevalence of halitosis.
